Song Highlights Effects Strokes Have on Families

There is a new No Hot Ashes song, that has really struck a chord with the audience during the FM tour and that is ‘Boulders’.

Inspired by his parent’s struggle, Eamon wrote this song to highlight their plight and shine a light on a problem that is facing many, many others.

This truth was revealed during the tour, due to so many people seeking out Eamon, to talk about similar situations in their lives, with either parents or someone close.

When ‘Boulders’ is released in July, it will be used to help raise awareness of strokes and the trouble they bring. It will also be used to raise funds for the Stroke Association who put in a lot of patient hours helping people recover so they can get on with their lives.

The lyrics for Boulders are below this video, which was shot last week by Stephen Bate, during NHA’s support slot on FM’s Heroes & Villains tour.

Boulders

50 years together man and wife
Raised a family from dawn to dawn
Taken punches on the chin from life
Sometimes it’s hard to find the strength to carry on

Was a journey without a chart
Ignore the head, listen the heart
Face each challenge, beat it down
When you’ve something to believe in you’ll always stick around

Chorus
They pushed boulders up a mountain
Stemmed the tide, rolled it back out to sea
When their struggles are forgotten
He’ll hold her hand, look in her eyes and say, there’s always you and me

The time to take it easy came
They’d done their very best
Then the storm clouds gathered in her brain
Faced them with their biggest test

Never spent more than a night apart
It’s enough to break the hardest heart
Another challenge to beat down
When you’ve something to believe in, you’ll always stick around

Chorus
They pushed boulders up a mountain
Stemmed the tide, rolled it back out to sea
When their struggles are forgotten
He’ll hold her hand, look in her eyes and say, there’s always you and me

You and me started out as friends
We’ll see this journey to the end
Renewed our vows helped us carry on
What doesn’t kill us, makes us strong

Solo

Now they spend nights apart
3 miles separate two aching hearts
Is this the challenge, to beat them down?
When you’ve something to believe in, you always stick around

Chorus
They pushed boulders up a mountain
Stemmed the tide rolled it back out to sea
When their struggles are forgotten
He’ll hold her hand, look in her eyes and say…

They pushed boulders up a mountain
Stemmed the tide rolled it back out to sea
When their struggles are forgotten
He’ll hold her hand, look in her eyes and say… there’s always you and me.
